WHAT IS TET TRUNG
THU? |
| Trung Thu or Mid-Autumn Festival
marks the lunar calendar's 15th day of the eighth month.
Also known as the
Children’s Festival in Vietnamese culture, Trung Thu is
celebrated in other part of Asia, notably in China in a slightly
different style. One of Trung Thu’s most famous attractions is the
“Ca Hoa Rong” lantern procession – a
mythical symbol, which literally means “a carp that transformed itself
into a dragon” and refers to students’ hard work and accomplishment. |
| Like other Vietnamese traditional
festivals, Trung Thu closely reflects the seasonal spirit, with its own
purpose, scenery, flavor and sound. |
| PURPOSE: promotes education,
innovative ideas, arts and crafts, poetry, and especially affection for
the young. |
| SCENERY: presents a captivating
panorama of the children's lantern procession, colorful lantern shows,
songs, and dances. Joyful scenes abound with family and friends
gathering at the festivals, tasting moon cakes while drinking fragrant
tea, and talking about art and education. |
| FLAVOR: offers the unique flavor
of mid-autumn delicacies, such as moon cakes and an assortment of
fragrant teas that will satisfy everyone's taste. |
| SOUND: provides the pleasant
sounds of children's laughter, upbeat music from unicorn dance drums,
and distinctive children's songs and games that will bring a smile to
everyone's face.
